Woola wins Fifty Founders Battle at Techchill – sheep wool packaging gaining interest
Updated: May 4
TechChill technology conference in Riga brought great news for us – Woola won the first prize!
TechChill brought many technology startups, investors and guests together to Riga. The conference hosts a competition for early stage startups called Fifty Founders. This year's competition had a record number of participants. A total of 261 startups from 40 countries were competing. The speakers' list included representatives from sustainable packaging companies.
Woola's sheep wool packaging was selected as one of the 50 finalists, competing in the greentech vertical. After winning the greentech vertical, we pitched on the big stage at the finale taking place on the last day of Techchill and won the first prize! Woola's sheep wool packaging caught the eye of the judges and we were awarded with €10,000 non-equity cash prize from Techchill, as well as fast-track to the Startup World Cup finals in San Francisco and 10 000 USD worth of AWS credits. We also got the special prize of Forbes Baltic.
It was a successful week for Woola and we are excited to keep working on compostable packaging materials and making #sheepulareconomy happen. In the meantime, you can keep in touch with us via our website woola.xyz, Instagram or Facebook.
